Nationwide Foundation bring empty properties back into use as genuinely affordable and good quality homes for people in need by providing grants and social investments to community-led organisations. They raise awareness of the benefits of this work with other funders, government and policymakers to encourage more support.
Despite the current housing shortage, the UK has over 200,000 long-term empty homes and many more empty commercial properties which could be used as homes.
Since 2012, the Nationwide Foundation has awarded funding of over £1.7 million in two rounds, to charitable organisations around the UK.
